Record your screen and camera with clear audio
Choose the right capture surface, review permissions and inspect the downloaded demonstration.
A screen recording needs readable interface text and a deliberate audio choice. Sharing an entire desktop can expose notifications and private windows. A tab or a single window is often enough for a demonstration, but the right choice depends on what the viewer needs to see.
Prepare and capture
- Close private tabs and messages. Enlarge the interface so its text remains readable in the final frame.
- Open the screen recorder or screen-and-webcam recorder. Choose the tab, window or screen in the browser’s capture dialog.
- Allow the microphone when the recorder asks. Shared system audio depends on the browser and the selected capture surface.
- Record a short demonstration that includes speech, a click and any system sound you need. Stop and save the download.
Know the recording choices
| Capture | Use it for | Review |
|---|---|---|
| Screen only | A clear demonstration of actions | Text size and private information |
| Screen with webcam | A demonstration where the presenter adds context | Camera overlay must not cover important controls |
| Portrait camera | A direct address intended for a tall frame | Center crop can remove gestures near the edges |
Check the actual file
Play the saved take before the full recording. Verify that the spoken explanation was captured and that any intended system audio is present. Browser permissions being granted does not prove that every requested sound source was recorded.
Keep cursor movement purposeful. Pause long enough for the viewer to identify the control before clicking it, and explain the result after it changes. Editing can remove dead time, but it cannot recover interface text that was recorded too small to read.
